The Marathon Server Slam is going live today, giving players a free chance to jump in ahead of the full release next month. With the game launching on March 6 at a $40 price point, this weekend’s stress test feels like an important moment for Bungie.
The Server Slam runs from February 26 through March 2, and it’s open to everyone on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
When does Marathon Server Slam start?
Bungie has confirmed that Marathon Server Slam begins on February 26 at 10 AM PST. As always, that translates differently depending on your region.
Here are the confirmed global start times:
- Los Angeles – 10 AM PST
- New York – 1 PM EST
- London – 6 PM GMT
- Berlin – 7 PM CET
- Mumbai – 11:30 PM IST
- Tokyo – 3 AM JST (February 27)
- Sydney – 5 AM AEST (February 27)
- Auckland – 7 AM NZST (February 27)

What is the Marathon Server Slam?
The Server Slam is a large-scale technical stress test ahead of launch. Unlike the earlier closed alpha, this weekend is open to all players and is designed to push the servers to their limits.
Because this is a stress test, Bungie has warned players to expect:
- Login queues during peak hours
- Possible disconnects and error codes
- Short-notice maintenance downtime
- General instability as systems are tested
The goal is to gather data and improve stability before the official launch.
What’s included in the Server Slam?
During the playtest, players can:
- Explore two maps: Perimeter and Dire Marsh
- Try six Runner Shells
- Complete opening contracts
- Experience the updated gameplay systems
Importantly, loot earned during the Server Slam will carry over to the full game if you decide to purchase Marathon at launch.
